Will volunteer - Medical Physicist
2004-10-23 11:59:05
I am wondering if anyone will be willing to accept a volunteer Medical
Physicist. I want to make it clear that I am NOT looking for a job, I'm not looking to be paid. I am working happily at a well-paid job (different field). I just need to keep up skills, and I'm willing to work after-hours and weekends. I have undergraduate degree in Engineering Physics, master's degree in Electrical Engineering (medical imaging) and another one in Physics (magnetic resonance). I have courses in medical imaging, basic anatomy, radiotherapy, dosimetry, etc. and I have practical lab experience in applying AAPM TG-21 and TG-51 protocols. I am located in Silicon Valley area (California), and since I'm volunteering, of course, I cannot relocate. This is not a frivolous request. I've many years in the semiconductor industry and have a nice stable job that pays well and doesn't hurt my brain. But having recently completed training, if I don't _do_, I will let my skills go to waste. I've requested directly in the past to clinics, but there has been always been a perceived problem with liability. If necessary, let me be paid $1 and be an official employee or something then. If you can help me out, please e-mail me. I can always provide transcripts, resume or whatever information you need. Isaac Leung
