"Clinical beginning of pharma outsourcing

Ahmedabad-based Synchron Research has established its presence in the
area of contract clinical research through an alliance with a $615
million US company, says NANDINI OZA.

THE Ahmedabad-based Synchron Research Services Private Limited
recently hit the headlines after a tie up with Boston-based Parexel
International Corporation, a $615 million biopharmaceutical
outsourcing company. For a company having staff strength of 35,
including its managing director, the tie up with this Nasdaq-listed
company is by no means a small achievement..."

This is nothing new. We do drug research tapes for two different drug
companies and they both have partners in several different countries,
Switzerland, Austria, China, India helping do clinical trials and a variety
of other things.

So, the pharmaceutical industry has no problem outsourcing the clinical
research used to prove the safety of U.S. manufactured drugs, but the
consumer can't be allowed to import those drugs back into this country after
they've been sold to Canada, because we can't trust foreign countries to
sell us safe drugs? Safe research, of course, but safe drugs, definitely
not.

Sometimes you just gotta laugh to keep from crying.
